What counts as one practice item?
One unique, locally stored ABZ student task counts as one practice item. This can be a question, prompt, word target, sentence task, image decision, story checkpoint, or preset sequence a learner can answer or complete.
The same stored question is not counted again because it appears at another difficulty level. Planned content, generated variations that do not yet exist, teacher-created sets, archived material, interface actions, and inaccessible external question banks are excluded.

Where the taxonomy is strongest
ABZ’s current taxonomy spans K–8 literacy, with its greatest depth in K–5 foundational reading, phonics, spelling, vocabulary, and elementary comprehension. Grades 6–8 contain selected comprehension, language, writing, and morphology targets rather than equal depth across every family.
The 67 entries are described as named skills and instructional targets because the catalog mixes broad categories, such as Phonics, with specific targets, such as Digraphs.

B4 · CCSS status
A real but partial working mapping
Explicit CCSS codes appear in all 10 storybooks and in 23 of the 40 active game routes. Major activities contain skill-, grade-, activity-, or item-level mappings.
The mapping is still distributed across source files, not complete for every item, and not independently audited across the whole public library.
“Concrete, partial working CCSS mapping.” ABZ does not describe the current state as complete platform-wide alignment.
